What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physicist (Float) position at Minneapolis Radiation Oncology?
Minneapolis Radiation Oncology (MRO) is the largest physician radiation oncology practice in the Upper Midwest. MRO has an opening for a full-time Board-Certified/Eligible Medical Physicist to work at our Twin Cities Metro Radiation Therapy Centers.
This is a new position we are adding to our physics team to help learn and support special procedures system-wide, ultimately growing into an independent Staff Physicist role. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior physicist to work in a state-of-the-art environment across a multi-vendor environment, gaining experience in several platforms and technologies. Preference will be given to candidates with 2 years of experience post-residency, but we will also consider exceptional new graduates from CAMPEP accredited residency programs. Pay will be determined based on prior experience.
Duties:
- Providing full range of medical physics
- Performing periodic calibration and QA for treatment machines, CT Simulators and image guidance systems
- Participating and supervising patient specific QA, treatment planning/dosimetry for all SRS, SABR and HDR treatment procedures
- Performing treatment chart checks and providing additional support for all staff
