What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Nurse position at Minneapolis Radiology?
Minneapolis Radiology and Minneapolis Vascular Physicians (MRA/MVP) is a growing multifaceted medical practice in the NW metro area. We are looking for a reliable and dynamic individual to fill our APP position.
The APP is responsible for providing individualized care to patients and their families for an Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery practice. The APP utilizes the Nursing Process and individualized training as a framework for treating patients and utilizes this knowledge in the performance of general and specific competencies.
This multifaceted role also includes demonstration of procedural competency in Image-Guided Procedures including (these skills are preferred but are not required for application)
- Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
- Lumbar Puncture
- Central Venous Catheter Placement (Ports, PICC, Tunneled and Non-Tunneled Lines)
- Joint Injections
- Venous Procedures
- Tube, Line, and Drain Management (check, exchanges, and removals)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Daily rounds
- Following up on patient imaging
- Patient consenting, care and discharging coordination and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Stay current with medical advancements, best practices, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other healthcare staff.
- Formulating diagnosis/problems.
- Selecting appropriate standards and/or critical pathways.
- Recording assessments, planning, interventions, evaluations, and patient responses on EMR according to established guidelines
REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensure and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner, Clinician Nurse Specialist or
- Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota
- Degree in nursing or health related field preferred.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification or completion of certification during orientation.
- EPIC experience preferred but not required
