At Minnehaha Area Child Care we are dedicated to providing our students with the best care and education while still making the learning experience as fun and enjoyable as possible.
We are currently looking for a music teacher that has the desire to use the power of music as a way to instruct children a new experience to develop an interest in the arts of arranging sounds, this is where you come in to bring your exceptional skills and the passion you carry to teach our students the beauty of music and all the knowledge that comes with rhythm. As a successful music teacher, you should have a deep knowledge of music theory, practice and pedagogy as well as the ability to create engaging and stimulating lesson plans. Must understand the developmental needs of children in order to create an environment of learning and exploration. Prior experience working with children would be preferred. Also to be able to build positive relationships with their students. Furthermore, music teachers must possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively engage with parents and other staff members.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging music curriculum for students of all ages, incorporating diverse teaching methods.
- Create lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Incorporate music theory, performance techniques, and creative expression into lessons.
- Collaborate with other educators to enhance the overall music education program.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of early childhood development and education
- Ability to lead students in singing, playing instruments, and creating music.
- Understanding of music theory and composition.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to develop and execute lesson plans that are age-appropriate and engaging.
- Curriculum development expertise
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in the classroom while fostering a love for music
- Previous childcare or classroom experience
