What are the responsibilities and job description for the AmeriCorps Groundwork Fellow (August 2025) position at Minnesota Alliance With Youth?
AmeriCorps Groundwork Fellows maintain and strengthen the network or organizations that support young people in Minnesota. Groundwork Fellows serve in nonprofit and government agencies in the Twin Cities metro area who share a commitment to serving young people. The nature of the work that Groundwork Fellows will do will depend on their talents and interests and the needs of the organizations we partner with. Overall, Groundwork Fellows work on projects that build the capacity of youth serving organizations addressing educational barriers through efforts that engage youth as agents of change.
You EARN:
- AmeriCorps Living Stipend:~ Full-time (40hrs/week) members receive $1236 twice per month (pre-tax)
- AmeriCorps Education Award of $7395: The education award can be used toward federally qualifying student loans (federal student financial aid loans, not including ParentPlus loans) or future qualified post-secondary education.
- Benefits: Health and dental insurance, qualified student loan forbearance, qualified child care assistance, AmeriCoach life coach, TAP transportation card (metro area), support applying for SNAP benefits.
Minimum QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older by the time of program start date
- Must have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational qualification
- Must be either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National or Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States
- Must not have served four or more prior terms of service AmeriCorps State and National
- Must be able to pass National Service Criminal Service History Background check (including National Sex Offender Registry, State of service and State of residence, and FBI checks) - eligibility requirements listed
Positions are available starting August 16, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026.
