Job Summary
As part of a structured summer program, the student worker will be assigned to the Financial Services and Accounting Team. A student worker in this class performs and learns to perform financial services and investment operations work assisting the Minnesota State Board of Investment (SBI) staff in reconciling investment managers, public and private market investment fees, trade order entry, broker settlement and other daily investment reconciliations. Additionally, this position will work on other financial services and accounting projects such as reporting and accounting for defined benefit retirement plans, defined contribution plans, non-retirement accounts and tax-advantaged savings plans for the State of Minnesota and its employees. By the end of the program, the student will gain a deeper understanding of the SBI's mission and financial operations.
Some student worker responsibilities will be :
Candidates should be able to work 32 hours per week between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm Monday through Thursday from June 2, 2025 through July 31, 2025, with flexibility to accommodate academic calendars as necessary. Depending on available work projects and activities, the internship could be extended for an additional two weeks until August 14, 2025 . The SBI offices will be closed the week of June 30-July 4, student workers will not work this week.
This position may count towards internship credit with your university. You will need to work with your university to determine if this position will qualify as an internship.

Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate student having completed their second (sophomore) or third (junior) year of study in an accounting, finance or business related field.

To be eligible as a student worker, you must be a student enrolled in a post-secondary program. If you are enrolled at a credit granting institution, you must carry at least six semester credits; if enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
