Job Summary
The Human Resource Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the college's workforce planning and Human Resource (HR) operations by ensuring fair, inclusive, and efficient staffing, talent management, and classification and compensation processes. This position is responsible for implementing equitable hiring practices, fostering professional growth opportunities, and maintaining accurate job classifications and compensation structures.
Working closely with hiring managers, employees, and HR leadership, this position helps build a workforce that reflects the communities of Minnesota while promoting transparency, fairness, and accessibility in all HR processes. The Human Resource Specialist 1 ensures compliance with state policies, collective bargaining agreements, and employment laws while also advising on best practices to create a workplace where all employees feel valued and supported.
This role requires a commitment to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and proactive engagement with candidates, employees, and stakeholders. By supporting equitable HR practices, the Human Resource Specialist contributes to the college's ability to attract, retain, and develop a talented workforce that is positioned for success.

The salary range for this position is : $25.29-$36.71 per hour.
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college / university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
