The City of Bayport is seeking a motivated, energetic, and leadership-oriented individual to become the city’s first full-time Fire Chief of the Bayport Fire Department. Bayport is located 20 miles east of St. Paul, along the scenic St. Croix River, with a population of 3,700. Established in 1888, the department consists of 25 paid on-call members who provide service to the communities of Bayport, Baytown, Oak Park Heights, and West Lakeland. The service area population is approximately 14,000, with an average annual call volume of 1,250. Under the supervision of the City Administrator, this position will be responsible for successfully managing, leading, and shaping the future of the department, while being accessible, transparent, collaborative and demonstrating creative problem solving and consensus-building attributes. We look forward to continuing a history and legacy of excellent public service and community engagement established by the Bayport Fire Department, led by a full-time Fire Chief.
