The City of Saint Paul is now hiring.
Our Department of Planning and Economic Development is hiring a Housing Rehabilitation Advisor I.
Perform intermediate technical work in implementation of owner-occupied rehabilitation program and other types of rehabilitation projects.
Direct professional experience coordinating the work of building contractors, such as small scale contractors working on single family home projects.
Direct experience in client facing work with homeowners in a community-based setting.
Conduct inspections of owner occupied dwellings; identifies building, housing, and housing quality standards' deficiencies for the purpose of recommending needed rehabilitation.
Schedule and conduct meetings and acts as liaison between property owners, contractors, city inspectors, architects, appraisers, and outside agencies on an as needed basis. Prepares and submits documents for approval.
Assist property owners in managing bidding process including reviewing bids and awarding the contracts.
Monitor the construction process, prepare documents, and perform interim and final inspections.
Assist with construction/contractor documents for loan applications and loan closings.
