The City of Mankato is now hiring for Water Plant Operator Technician A - Maintenance
This role is responsible for performing semi-skilled work for the efficient operation, maintenance, and housekeeping of the Water Treatment Plant and the distribution system; making continuous adjustments throughout the day to keep the plant running smoothly; conducting daily testing of the water supply ensuring the proper addition of chemicals; transferring chemicals daily into the day tanks; and ordering the chemicals to keep the storage tanks at a satisfactory level. May be assigned to operator or maintenance functions. The maintenance assignment performs the functions of the Plant Operator whenever an Operator is unavailable to work his or her shift. Operators rotate between a day, evening, and on-call shift. Whenever not working on a shift as a Plant Operator, the maintenance assignment works days assisting on plant operations and maintenance. May be assigned to one or more functional areas within the department.
