This position acts as the primary backup to the Central Mail supervisor, overseeing daily production, ensuring equipment functionality, and supporting staff to meet production and financial goals. Additionally, it serves as one of the system administrators for the Slingshot invoicing system, and acts as the onsite postal coordinator for state agencies and local government units.

Key responsibilities include coordinating inkjet addressing services, ensuring compliance with USPS regulations, and managing production scheduling. Familiarity with all Central Mail equipment and the BCC Mail Manager software is essential for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Database management skills sufficient to develop tables and manipulate, retrieve, and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data entry procedures and systems, such as Microsoft Office applications or similar data entry systems.
  • Document and records management skills sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information.
  • Skills in business grammar, spelling, and punctuation to write, develop and edit reports, letters, procedures, presentations, and other documents

Minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview:

  • Knowledge of providing prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to respectfully engage with clients, coworkers, and customers, when handling difficult or complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes

Preferred Qualifications

  • experience in the operation of inserters, OCR sorter and all peripheral equipment.
  • knowledge of USPS postal regulations and requirements, discount postal prices.
  • Experience in using BCC Mail Manager or comparable list maintenance software.
  • Experience in providing work guidance and workload direction to staff in a mail production environment
