This posting will be used to fill two (2) Internal Compliance Auditor vacancies. The level at which the vacancy is filled, Auditor Intermediate or Auditor Senior, will be determined by the qualifications of the applicant who is selected for the position.
The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting audits and internal reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance controls within Direct Care and Treatment. This role involves examining financial and operational records to ensure accuracy and adherence to state and federal regulations, agency policies, and industry best practices. Key duties include analyzing financial information and operational procedures, identifying potential risks or inefficiencies, and documenting relevant items through data testing or direct examination. The auditor prepares detailed reports on audit findings and provides recommendations to strengthen internal controls. This position may also assist in developing audit programs and procedures, while collaborating with various departments and audit staff to promote transparency, accountability, and effective project completion. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to leadership are essential for success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications
To qualify at the Auditor Intermediate level, applicants must have:
- 1-year of experience in developing, verifying, and analyzing financial and/or operational data of the industry OR
- 2-years of experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Human Services, Public Policy, finance, business administration or related field
- 2-years of experience in developing, verifying, and analyzing financial and/or operational data of the industry OR
- 3-years of experience
- Master’s degree in accounting, Human Services, Public Policy, finance, business administration or related field
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and pronouncements of the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
- Oral communication sufficient to interview auditees, explain audit standards and policy, train and guide other auditors.
- Written communication sufficient to draft clear, concise reports of audit/review findings, reports of financial and statistical data, legislative proposals
- Computer skills (e.g., e-mail, word-processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, Internet browser and search software) sufficient to download and record data, analyze information, perform complex calculations, and develop reports.
