Minnesota Direct Care & Treatment is seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals to join our agency as a Forensic Support Specialist. This position will provide facility security and/or residential care to patients at the Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP).

The Forensic Mental Health Program provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety.

Responsibilities of a Forensic Support Specialist include:

  • Providing informal counseling;
  • Implementing treatment plans;
  • Observing and documenting client behavior;
  • Encouraging client participation in program activities;
  • Providing security and verbal and/or physical crisis intervention.

This announcement will be used to fill multiple permanent, full-time, part-time, and intermittent (on-call) vacancies. Shifts may be day shift, rotating (day/evening) shift, or overnight shift.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Have a HS diploma or GED;
  • Be at least 18 years of age;

AND

  • At least ONE of the following in order to qualify for further consideration:
    • One or more years of full-time work experience in ANY field; OR
    • Two or more years of part-time work experience in ANY field
