The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending. MSOP is a national leader in the industry and is committed to providing services on the leading edge of the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of clients. MSOP has facilities in Moose Lake and St. Peter, MN. MSOP Moose Lake site serves clients in the earlier stages of treatment in a secure setting.

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Skills Development Specialist at our Moose Lake, MN location.

In this role, the Skills Development Specialist provides therapeutic principles of positive work habits, job skill development and personal growth through the supervision and training of clients in the disbursement of orders, manufacturing processes, quality initiatives, inventory control for Minnesota State Industries product lines. In addition to providing technical expertise to the Minnesota State Industries operation in the manufacture, sale, transportation, repair, maintenance and upgrading of its product lines in a manner that facilitates delivery of treatment, therapy, and education systems to clients.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide administrative control and direction in the treatment/training/education of clients in production and logistical services for MSOP vocational product lines.
  • Provide work direction, technical and administrative support, and coordination to MSOP clients, production staff, and customer service representatives in the areas of production and logistical support of Minnesota State Industries product lines.
  • Oversee client's completion of documentation for the movement of raw materials and finished product and the development and management of a record keeping system for inventory control purposes.
  • Manage on duty time and leave time so that the client's work is completed, and the goals and objectives are met.
  • Effectively function as a member of the interdisciplinary team by providing a safe and secure facility so that clients receive quality professional serves in a therapeutic environment that is safe for clients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have:

Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or therapeutic services environment demonstrating the following:

  • Developing, facilitating, and/or evaluating programming aimed at improving client or staff success through instruction, training, and/or practice of independent living and positive socialization skills.
  • Advanced computer software skills sufficient to track shipments, file claims, develop schedules, and compile and document information.
  • Organizational and human relation skills sufficient to handle concerns of customers, staff, and clients.
  • Ability to teach complex concepts to clients or staff of varying levels of ability and comprehension

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, rehab therapy, or behavioral or social science field.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling systems, database management, and/or e-commerce systems.
  • Possess Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement Process training/certification.
