What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Development Engineer position at Minnesota Department of Transportation?
This position manages the State Aid Emergency Relief Program for local public agencies throughout the state. Candidate will coordinate and monitor appropriate use of disaster relief funds including State and FHWA resources. This position also assists the Special Programs Engineer, State Aid Project Development Engineer, and State Aid Plans Engineer in the review and approval of Environmental Documentation, construction plans, agreements, and pay requests for locally initiated federally funded Projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.
- Experience in transportation project development from scoping to construction.
- Experience applying the National Environmental Project Act requirements (NEPA).
- Experience reading and interpreting construction plans.
