About the Position
The Bridge Scoping Engineer plays a vital role in providing planning and scoping services for state bridge projects, ensuring timely completion, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to scope requirements. This position requires expertise in scoping reports, cost estimates, and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed scoping reports and cost estimates for state bridge projects.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure projects meet project timelines, costs, and scope.
- Identify potential project risks, constraints, and document mitigation strategies during early scoping phases.
- Assist Districts in outlining bridge repair work and cost estimates for STIP planning purposes.
- Optimize STIP budget allocation and address future funding gaps through accurate scoping estimates.
- Provide technical expertise on bridge preservation and improvement methods.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency measures in the scoping process.
Qualifications
- Possess a professional civil engineering license with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
- Demonstrate three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent, showcasing:
- Expertise in structural engineering or bridge design.
- Proficiency in utilizing computer software for structural analysis or bridge design.
