This position is located at the Bridge Office in Oakdale and has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.

As the Bridge Project Controls Engineer, perform cost estimate management on Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) bridge projects and develop all levels of bridge cost estimates for all MnDOT projects with bridge work types. This position also assists with statewide leadership and support for bridge cost-estimating issues and initiatives. It also leads unit development of cost reporting, statewide program delivery support, and bridge estimating consultant management as well as assists with overall unit leadership and direction.

  • The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID), or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity. If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.

AND

Three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent that demonstrates:

  • Experience in construction cost estimating.
  • Experience with bridge construction materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing bridge preliminary or final plans and specifications.
  • Experience with bridge design or bridge construction.
