The Bridge Scoping Engineer is responsible for developing comprehensive scoping reports and cost estimates for state bridge projects, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. This position requires strong technical expertise in structural engineering, bridge design, and project management.
Main Responsibilities
- Create detailed scoping reports and cost estimates for state bridge projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to guarantee project compliance with schedules, costs, and scope.
- IDentify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies during early scoping phases.
- Support Districts in outlining bridge repair work and cost estimates for STIP planning purposes.
- Optimize STIP budget allocation and address future funding gaps through accurate scoping estimates.
- Provide technical guidance on bridge preservation and improvement techniques.
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement efficiency measures in the scoping process.
Requirements
- Hold a professional civil engineering license with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
- Showcase three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent, demonstrating:
- Advanced skills in structural engineering or bridge design.
- Proficiency in utilizing computer software for structural analysis or bridge design.
