What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Principal for Materials position at Minnesota Department of Transportation?
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Principal for Materials to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership in the development and implementation of materials engineering practices that meet MnDOT standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approval of pavement and materials designs and recommendations during project development, final design, and construction
- Provide overall leadership to the District Materials Laboratory so that materials' testing is in conformance with applicable standards, methods, and specifications and within established time frames
- Plan quality control, from a materials aspect, throughout the plan development process
Requirements:
- Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID)
- Three (3) years of post-registration engineering experience at the Engineer Senior level (or equivalent) demonstrating knowledge of the following: materials engineering, roadway and pavement design, pavement and grading materials, pavement rehabilitation strategies, life cycle cost analysis, soil properties and characteristics associated with their use of highway engineering construction
