Job Duties – Examples of work for this specific vacancy include but are not limited to:

Assist with road surface maintenance activities to keep the roadways and roadsides safe, clear and in good repair according to MnDOT standards; and performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, Laborer General applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must have the ability to perform routine tasks under close supervision.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of equipment usage sufficient to check and change oil, lubricate equipment and work outside.
  • Ability to operate mowers and use hand tools.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and construction work sufficient to carry out detailed work directions.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor work sufficient to complete assignments.
  • Strength and agility necessary to bend, lift, dig, reach, and load heavy materials.
  • Endurance necessary to perform indoor and outdoor tasks under extreme environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
