What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Roadway Materials Engineer position at Minnesota Department of Transportation?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Materials Engineer to join our team at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership in the development and implementation of pavement and materials designs that meet MnDOT standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance in Request for Proposals (RFP) preparation for consultant contracts
- Making recommendations to the District Project Manager for acceptance of products and services
- Certifying contract payment to ensure consultant contract deliverables are met
- Providing regular District pavement system reviews and utilizing the Pavement Management System in developing, planning, and coordinating a district pavement maintenance and construction program
Requirements:
- Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID)
- Three (3) years of post-registration engineering experience at the Engineer Senior level (or equivalent) demonstrating knowledge of the following: materials engineering, roadway and pavement design, pavement and grading materials, pavement rehabilitation strategies, life cycle cost analysis, soil properties and characteristics associated with their use of highway engineering construction
