The Minnesota Department of Transportation's Office of Traffic Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our team in developing uniform statewide policies, procedures, and standards for signal design and operations.
This key role will provide technical support for traffic electrical systems training programs, coordinate and manage the evaluation of new products and methods for traffic electrical designs and operation, and act as a technical liaison for miscellaneous research and implementation projects.
As Assistant State Signal & Lighting Engineer, you will exercise supervisory authority so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, and employees will effectively perform assigned job duties to achieve the annual objectives of the section.

- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of traffic signal design and operation.
- Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code.
- Knowledge of general electrical principles.
- Ability to review technical information and arrive at solutions to problems.
- Supervisory experience sufficient to enforce and communicate MnDOT's policies, personnel rules, and collective bargaining agreements.
