Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pavement Engineer to lead our Materials Lab team. This role will be responsible for providing overall leadership and technical guidance on pavement design, materials testing, and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, materials science, and project management. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on pavement design, materials testing, and construction projects
- Lead the Materials Lab team in conformance with applicable standards, methods, and specifications
- Develop and implement pavement maintenance and construction programs that meet Department standards
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure consultant contracts meet requirements
Requirements
- Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID)
- Three (3) years of post-registration engineering experience at the Engineer Senior level (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated knowledge of materials engineering, roadway and pavement design, pavement and grading materials, pavement rehabilitation strategies, life cycle cost analysis, soil properties, and characteristics associated with their use of highway engineering construction
