The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Delivery Van Driver for our 53-acre campus.
As a Delivery Van Driver, you will provide transportation to residents, deliver/transport packages and parcels between homes, buildings, and vendors. Keep vehicles and machinery in operational order.

The Minneapolis Home is located on Minnehaha Avenue, which has connecting highways and public transportation options for an easy commute. The beautiful 53-acre wooded campus includes mature oaks and pines, nature trails and biking paths overlooking the Mississippi River.

The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Delivery Van Driver for our 53-acre campus.
As a Delivery Van Driver, you will provide transportation to residents, deliver/transport packages and parcels between homes, buildings, and vendors. Keep vehicles and machinery in operational order.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Transporting residents and medical equipment in a safe and timely manner
- Familiarity with the facility’s safe work practices and infection prevention programs
- Inspections of vehicles and conducting minor repairs
- Transport packages, furniture, medication, biohazards, and deliverables in a timely manner
- Enhance and support the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitor (i.e. special events, emergencies, searches)
- Perform minor building/ground maintenance such as pick up litter and maintain garbage receptables
- Tracking work orders in electronic system

Minimum Qualifications

- A valid Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or higher with passenger endorsement
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
- Must be able to obtain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification /First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire
- Experience working with vulnerable adults
- A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
- Finalists may be required to pass a job-related pre-employment physical assessment.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
- Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
- Finalists will be subject to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident and return-to-duty drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
