Job Title: Painter

Location: Mankato, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: M-F

Wage: $25/hour

About the Role

This position works in the paint department moving load bars, hanging parts on load bars and training in the paint system.

Responsibilities

• Assemble various elevator parts according to prints and work order instructions.
• Move completed load bars to the paint system
• Load parts onto paint load bars
• Prep metal elevator parts before priming and painting.
• Paint metal elevator parts with finishing coat of paint
• Demonstrate respect and regard for customers and coworkers to ensure a professional, responsive and courteous environment at Minnesota Elevator, Inc.
• Participate as a team member by performing additional assignments to meet organizational goals as noted and observed by supervisor and coworkers.
• Actively participate in the MEI I-power Program by attending weekly meetings and submitting ideas to innovate and optimize MEI products and service.
• Participate in self-development activities to enhance job performance either through formal means (classes, workshops, seminars, in services, etc.) or less structured means (reading, networking, etc.)
• Follow company guidelines regarding punctuality and attendance to ensure a smooth working environment for the department.
• The ability to learn and navigate through our shop pages while organizing and labeling parts correctly through the production processes
• Execute additional tasks as needed

Experience

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Resourceful, problem-solver, able to prioritize and multitask

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools or reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and walk for up to 8 hours. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds; the employee is required to request assistance when lifting anything exceeding 50 pounds. The employee is frequently pushing and pulling and occasionally up to 70 pounds.
