The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 11 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.
Job Summary
As a Business Information Systems Specialist, you will function as a Business Data Steward, Reporting Analyst, and Business Software Configuration Specialist in Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) serving the Department of Corrections (DOC). This includes partnering closely with business owners, stakeholders and vendors on the management of, coordination and communication of business needs and impacts, including access management and business application configuration.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location:
- Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis.
- Only candidates residing in Minnesota and its bordering counties are eligible for telework.
Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of increasing responsibilities and experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or Systems Analyst for a portfolio of Software as a Service (SaaS) application.
Experience must include:
- ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, including inventory management, warehouse setup, financial processes, and daily ERP operations.
- Gathering application requirements, managing user administration, performing business configuration changes, troubleshooting data/application issues (including basic SQL), and handling SaaS application vendor releases/upgrades.
- Acting as a liaison and coordinating between business, IT and vendor, with a focus on understanding day-to-day business administrative aspects, to ensure smooth and reliable operation of solutions.
- Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
- Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving with an acute understanding of one’s audience.
