The team supports work that improves workforce and community development, increases business recruitment, and helps Minnesota small businesses to expand into international trade.
This position provides direct oversight of the day-to-day technical activities associated with all of the components of DEED’s middleware infrastructure, .NET technical architecture and data systems. The individual in this position is considered the highest-level technical source within this team and must have expertise, training and experience in multiple technologies. This individual is the DEED Enterprise Technical team leader and supervises, leads and advises team members in the middleware group. This position will be a contributing member of this team as well as being responsible for the supervision and training of this team.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in middleware infrastructure, .NET technical architecture, and data systems.
Experience must include:
- Experience with mentoring, training and oversight of technical teams.
- Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud server set up, configuration and associated services for Windows and Linux and SQL server configuration and support.
- Experience with directing and performing updates and upgrades for applications and associated systems and servers.
- Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
- Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
- Five (5) or more years of IT related experience in middleware infrastructure, .NET technical architecture, and data systems.
- Lead work or supervisory experience.
- The ability to prioritize effectively and lead staff in the production and support of quality products.
- Experience with applying team building skills and the ability to effectively coach and motivate team members.
- Experience coordinating installs, updates and upgrades of applications, services and associated servers with agency staff, MNIT enterprise staff and vendors.
- Experience with tracking, managing and communicating SDLC factors with both business and technical teams.
