The Third Judicial District is seeking to fill two Court Operations Associate positions with the Olmsted County Court Administration.
The Court Operations Associate position is a fast-paced, highly detail-oriented position with a variety of responsibilities. Primary responsibilities include advanced case processing in an electronic environment, a potential to work in the courtroom, providing exceptional customer service on the phone and in person. This position will work directly with the public, judges, and justice partners. Duties require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of established laws, policies, procedures, regulations based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job. This position is an AFSCME represented position.
The primary work location for this position is the Olmsted County Government Center, 151 4 th Street SE, Rochester, Minnesota 55904. Standard hours of work are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
What You Will Do
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:
- Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processing
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case types
- Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically
- Provide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners
- Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment
- Schedule and maintain court calendars
- Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the court
- Attend court and assist by calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroom
- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedings

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
Nice to Have
- Certificate or degree in a related field
- Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management
- Experience working with the court's electronic case processing system
