Court Operations Associates work individually and in teams using independent judgment along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments that require dedication to providing excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and technological skills to match our electronic environment. Work may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processing or for performing a variety of advanced clerical functions in multiple case types and will require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of policies and procedures based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job.

The anticipated starting hourly rate for this position is no less than $20.43 for external hires, with a full future earning potential of $20.43-$34.41 per hour. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting or a courtroom. There will be frequent contact with the public, outside agencies, litigants, and attorneys at the counter, in the courtroom and on the telephone.

What You Will Do

- Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processing
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case types
- Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically
- Provide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners
- Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment
- Schedule and maintain court calendars
- Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the court
- Attend court and assist by calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroom
- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedings

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
- Certificate or degree in a related field
- Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management
- Experience working with the court's electronic case processing system
- Ability to learn rules of court, state statutes, case processing, policies, and procedures of the area of court assigned
- Knowledge of basic math
- Skill in navigating difficult situations and resolving conflict in a respectful and courteous manner
- Ability to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service while working under pressure in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Well organized, detail oriented, and analytical
