Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Spanish Interpreter to support communication between Spanish-speaking clients and healthcare providers in hospitals, clinics, and community settings throughout the Twin Cities area. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of medical terminology, social work practices, and the ability to interpret accurately across diverse environments. This role is essential in ensuring clear and effective communication while upholding confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities:
As a face-to-face interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between individuals and service providers. Your linguistic and cultural expertise will ensure effective interactions in medical, educational, and social contexts.
Qualifications: Must-Have:
-Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
-Listed on or eligible for the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster.
-Reliable transportation to travel between assignment locations.
-Ability to pass a criminal background check.
-U.S. citizenship or valid work permit.
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
Preferred:
⭐ 40-hour interpreter training certificate (or willingness to complete one upon hiring).
⭐ 2 years of professional interpreting experience.
⭐ Familiarity with the NCIHC Code of Ethics and commitment to completing 8 Continuing Education Units annually.
