The purpose of this position is to support the work of the MMB Legal Services unit and its work providing legal services to the agency in multiple areas, including data practices, records management, litigation management, and other complex legal service areas. This work involves communicating with both internal and external stakeholders on data practices requests and other sensitive matters; developing, implementing, and maintaining processes to organize and coordinate complex Legal Services projects and processes – including processes relating to management and processing of large datasets for litigation discovery, subpoenas, or data requests; preliminary review of case records and other documents and datasets to support attorney legal work; assisting the General Counsel and Legal Services attorneys with administrative functions relating to Legal Services operations; and supporting the work of MMB’s data practices function.
This position will be required to work in the office at least 2-3 days a week.
Minimum Qualifications
Minnesota Management and Budget will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal concepts and terminology sufficient to understand and support legal services work in the areas of data practices, records management, litigation management, and other complex legal service areas.
- Strong organizational skills sufficient to plan, coordinate and track activities for multiple high-volume legal specialty areas.
- Experience analyzing, identifying, and implementing ways to establish and improve systems and processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience developing and using databases, ad-hoc reporting, and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Access or Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide variety of audiences for a variety of purposes.
- Strong human relations skills to work directly with diverse levels of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
- Knowledge of MMB’s organizational structure and functional areas.
