Job Description

The Adjunct CDL Trainer at South Central College is responsible for providing comprehensive hands-on training to individuals pursuing a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). This role involves conducting behind-the-wheel training and evaluating trainee performance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Adjunct CDL Trainer plays a key role in preparing trainees for a successful career in commercial driving while promoting a culture of safety and responsibility. This position is ideal for experienced drivers passionate about sharing their knowledge and ensuring the next generation of CDL holders is prepared to excel safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct instruction on CDL-related topics, including safety, regulations, vehicle operation, and maintenance.
• Provide hands-on training in vehicle inspection, maneuvering, and on-the-road driving.
• Develop and implement effective training plans tailored to individual trainee needs and learning styles.
• Administer practical assessments to evaluate trainee knowledge and skill levels.
• Maintain accurate records of trainee progress and training activities.
• Stay updated on CDL regulations and best practices to ensure training content is current.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with trainees, staff, and relevant stakeholders to address concerns and provide feedback.
