POSITION SNAPSHOT
The Fleet Maintenance Manager ensures the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of MVTA’s fleet, including buses, electric vehicles (EVs), and support vehicles. This position oversees preventive maintenance programs, coordinates repairs, manages vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
The Fleet Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in leading and supervising contracted maintenance staff, optimizing fleet performance, and ensuring the highest level of service delivery. This role also includes administration of AssetWorks M5 fleet management software, EV charging, maintenance administration, fleet audits, fueling operations, and collision repair oversight. Additionally, this position requires UST (Underground Storage Tank) certification to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
This position requires local travel between MVTA locations and flexibility for after-hour events and on-call duties.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of MVTA’s vehicle fleet to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Administer AssetWorks M5 fleet management system, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and system optimization.
- Oversee EV software and maintenance administration, ensuring proper diagnostics, charging infrastructure management, and performance tracking.
- Conduct fleet audits to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of contracted fleet maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to MVTA standards.
- Manage fueling operations, including fuel inventory, equipment maintenance, and compliance with fuel storage regulations.
- Oversee collision repair processes, ensuring proper assessment, documentation, and coordination with insurance providers and repair vendors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage fleet-related contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement of parts and services.
- Assist in budget planning and cost control measures related to fleet maintenance operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports on fleet performance.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues and ensure rapid resolution to minimize service disruptions.
- Collaborate with facilities teams to address shop and garage-related facility needs, ensuring maintenance environments are safe, efficient, and operationally effective.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
