SUMMARYHennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Entry-Level Ophthalmology Specialist (Ophthalmic Healthcare Specialist) in our CSC Eye Clinic. This part-time (0.7 FTE) will work weekdays.Under close direction of a certified technician, performs work of moderate difficulty in performing a wide range of diagnostic tests for visual acuity and for use by providers in the diagnosis and care of diseases of the eyes.A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (contract / temporary workers and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms the following job functions under supervision of a certified Technician : Obtains and documents medical and ophthalmic history of patientsPerforms and documents a wide range of diagnostic tests and studies such as visual acuity, refraction, central field, and peripheral field testingPerforms tests for color vision, fusion, biometric ruling, retinal correspondence, intra-ocular pressure, corneal sensitivity, pupillary reactions, and diagnosing glaucomaPerforms slit lamp photography, contact lens fittings, and diagnostic ultrasoundMay administer ophthalmic medicationsOperates and maintains appropriate medical or diagnostic equipmentPerforms related work as required, but only after appropriate trainingQUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalentTwo years’ experience in customer service involving complex analytical problem-solving skillsOne year of experience in a related fieldORAn approved equivalent combination of education and experienceTitle : Entry-Level Ophthalmology Specialist (Part-Time)Location : MN-Minneapolis-Downtown CampusRequisition ID : 250010
