Job Summary:
The Strategic Accounts Business Development Manager will grow business with existing manufacturing clients and generate new business with strategic accounts to achieve or exceed our overall sales revenue targets.
This position requires effective development and maintenance of client relationships within our strategic customer base, selling expanded services within a defined set of strategic accounts. The ideal applicant is highly organized, competitive, articulate, and competent; motivated by winning, this person learns quickly and is not afraid to fail.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Grow the book of business at select existing manufacturing clients with multi-product portfolios and develop new business with select strategic accounts.
- Strategically create and execute account engagement plans to develop and deepen manufacturing relationships with target strategic accounts.
- Develop a pipeline, maintain a detailed customer database, and create strategic account maps to support new opportunity generation, following the sales funnel process from new opportunity to closed win.
- Support contract negotiations when applicable, optimizing pricing and terms to ensure alignment with both client expectations and company profitability over the long term.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client business challenges to remain competitive.
- Contact prospective customers through a combination of telephone and in-person contacts, networking, and referrals to obtain appointments and develop working dialogue with key buying decision-makers.
- Prepare and present the solution in a professional manner using the available resources.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events and customer entertainment activities as applicable.
- Develop positive working relationships with all internal disciplines, teams, and management.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales KPIs.
- Attend technical and sales training programs to further development competencies.
- 3-7 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management roles, particularly in a B2B environment supporting or selling into large multi-product medical device OEMs.
- Experience working within long sales cycles where deals may involve multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients.
- Experience in medical device industry preferred but not required.
- Excellent independent work ethic and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
- Must have technical aptitude and/or knowledge of software and electronics-based medical device technology.
- B.S. or M.S. required; Life Sciences or Technical focus preferred but not required.
- Local candidates preferred.
