TITLE: Activity/Housekeeping Aide
REPORTS TO: Housing Manager
$1,000 Sign on bonus!
Job Summary: Provide activities to residents: enhancing and enriching the emotional, spiritual, social and physical lives of each individual based on the comprehensive resident assessment. Engages residents in activities of interest and promotes quality of life for each resident.
Perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Housing Manager, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Qualifications: Must have ability to work with changing priorities, work independently and as a member of a team. Must have an ability to work cooperatively with staff, residents, and family. Must be able to work weekdays with occasional weekends and holidays, as needed. Must understand and practice Standard Precautions. Able to physically perform the duties required by the position. This position is also required to have an ability to read, write and speak English, and complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.
General Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates dependable, professional work habits.
- Lead/assist in assigned group or one-to-one activity programs.
- Assist residents to/from activity programs.
- Assist Director in developing weekly and monthly calendar.
- Assists in marketing by taking photos of regularly scheduled events and scheduled occasions.
- Assist Director in planning programs for holidays and special events.
- Complete required documentation for all residents in a timely manner.
- Document in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean spaces, including common spaces, spa room as well as support spaces and equipment.
- Empty waste containers in common spaces.
- Wash windows, walls and clean screens as needed in common spaces.
- Clean and disinfect equipment and storage rooms.
- Assist with event preparation/special projects and clean up.
- Uses applicable infection control procedures.
- Apply principles of good body mechanics when lifting and moving objects.
- Participate in disaster planning drills (fire, tornado, severe weather, etc.) when on duty.
- Develop knowledge of actions to be implemented in emergency situations.
- Practice fire safety and accident prevention procedures.
- Follow all policies and procedures governing the operation of Minnewaska Community Health Services.
- Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDS.
- Dispense chemicals as written and required.
- Attend in-service training and other work-related meetings as required.
- Must complete 4hrs of Dementia training within 160 hours of start of employment and 2 hours annually thereafter.
- Complete required annual education and dementia training.
