What are the responsibilities and job description for the Innkeeper/Manager position at Minnewaska Lodge?
Do you dream of running a cozy inn where every guest feels like family, and every day is an adventure? Are you equal parts gracious host, problem-solving ninja, and hospitality wizard? If so, pack your bags because we’re looking for YOU to be our next Innkeeper Extraordinaire!
Who We Are:
We’re a small unique inn nestled in the heart of Shawangunk Mountains, Hudson Valley, surrounded by 25.000 acres of pristine, preserved wilderness. From warm welcomes to unforgettable stays, we pride ourselves on creating magical experiences for our guests whether it is a restorative escape from the bustle of everyday life or a relaxing country retreat with modern touches. Think roaring fireplaces after an invigorating outdoor adventure!
What You’ll Do:
Innkeeper/General Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and developing employees while maintaining the integrity of the lodge.
- Be the Face of the Inn: Greet guests with a smile, charm, and maybe a fresh-baked treat.
- Create Magic: Ensure every guest's experience is unforgettable—from check-in to goodbye hugs (or handshakes if they’re not huggers).
- Master of All Trades: Oversee day-to-day operations, including reservations, housekeeping coordination, breakfast prep, and managing the occasional bear invasions (kidding... mostly).
- Social Butterfly: Engage with guests, share local tips, and make them feel like part of the family.
- Problem-Solving Pro: Handle challenges with grace, humor, and a can-do attitude.
- Ensures compliance with the management company and lodge standards for personnel, administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rate.
Who You Are:
- A hospitality lover with a knack for making people smile.
- Organized and detail-oriented (you probably color-code your sock drawer).
- Comfortable wearing many hats—chef’s toque, concierge cap, and even a plumber’s hard hat in a pinch!
- A great communicator who thrives on human connection.
- Flexible and unflappable—because no two days (or guests) are the same!
Perks of the Job:
- Competitive salary plus room and board (because who needs a commute?!).
- Endless supply of scenic views, cozy vibes, and heartwarming guest stories.
- The chance to leave your mark on a beloved local landmark.
- An inn-family that truly values YOU.
