Key Responsibilities

- Sample Collection: Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks to collect blood samples.
- Sample Handling: Label and process samples accurately, ensuring they are ready for laboratory analysis.
- Safety Protocols: Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Data Management: Accurately update patient information in the organization's database.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all phlebotomy equipment is properly maintained and stocked.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using phlebotomy equipment and medical software.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to calm and reassure patients, especially those who are nervous about blood draws.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in sample collection and labeling.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Visual activity must be unimpaired. Color differential is required.
- Equipment operation requires manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift or pull 25 pounds.
