Communication Infrastructure Technician
We are seeking a skilled Communication Infrastructure Technician to join our team at Minnkota Power Cooperative. This summer temporary position involves constructing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing communication towers, antennas, feedlines, and associated equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Tower Construction and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and assessments of communication towers, antennas, feedlines, and related equipment, reporting any issues that could impact functionality, safety, or structural integrity.
- Equipment Installation and Upgrades: Install, replace, or upgrade antennas, transmitters, receivers, lighting systems, and other equipment on communication towers, following established guidelines and safety protocols.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems affecting tower equipment and communication paths, performing necessary repairs and adjustments to restore optimal functionality.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to strict safety protocols and guidelines when working at elevated heights and in challenging weather conditions, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring secure attachment and stability of rigging and hoisting equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, must be 18 years of age or older, driver's license with a clean driving record, ability to work at heights while adhering to safety protocols.
- Skills and Qualifications: Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, adaptability to changing situations and environments.
