**About the Job**
Minnkota Power is seeking a highly skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team at the Milton R. Young Station in Center, ND.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance tasks on power plant equipment, including precision activities such as overhauls, alignments, and documenting specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled maintenance, overhaul, installation, and repairs of power plant machinery and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with Westinghouse steam turbine frame 425, GE steam turbine frame D5, pumps, valves, piping, gear reducers, conveyors, fans, turbines, boilers, compressors, motors, and soot blowers
- Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces as needed
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management through verbal and written forms
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Maintenance, Machinist, Welding, Auto or Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in precision maintenance tasks, cutting, brazing, and welding processes
- Able to work special shifts, overtime, and call-out for on-site assignments
- Available for major outage assignments
