Position Information
Minot State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. Minot State University is a proud member of NCAA DII and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Under the direct supervision of the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned by the Head Men's Basketball Coach as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the program, the Athletic Department, and the University.

Position Description & Details
Assist in development of a competitive Men’s basketball program that will represent the institution and community in a positive manner.
Work with Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Life to ensure all players meet applicable eligibility requirements and prepare all necessary forms on a timely basis.
Assist in development of practice and competition schedule.
Assist in conducting productive and meaningful practice sessions.
Assist in making travel arrangements for team and recruiting.
Conduct fundraising activities to supplement program budget.
Conduct and direct instructional camps for area youth.
Work with Assistant Director of Athletic for Communication and Media Relations on providing program information and statistics to media and fans via press releases, media guides, game programs and web site.
Assist in development of recruitment plan and actively recruit student athletes.
Assist in development of and actively participate in a plan to enhance public relations for the basketball program.
Track academic progress of student-athletes within the program
Establish and maintain an ethical and moral code of behavior and living that is expected of all players and staff members within the program
Develop practice schedules and teach the fundamental skills of the game.
Follow all NCAA, conference and institutional policies.
Actively participate in campus committees and forums.
Support the philosophy and mission of the department and institution.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree prefered
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Experience to include knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

A coach or staff member may be suspended or terminated if found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations
Rules education, satisfactory rules knowledge and documenting compliance activities are mandatory and athletics personnel will be evaluated on their performance
