MSU Life Coordinator Job Descriptions
Each spring semester, the Office of Student Activities hires student leaders to serve as MSU Life Coordinators who are primarily responsible for developing and promoting fun and engaging campus activities for the benefit of all students at Minot State University. The directors plan, coordinate and host activities under the direction of the Student Activities Coordinator and with the assistance of a committee of fellow students known as the MSU: Life Committee.

No statement can be made as to the exact number of hours coordinators must devote to the position. This will vary from one day to the next – the position is demanding in time and effort. Applicants must be willing to work evenings and weekends as dictated by programming as well as maintain a minimum of two office hours per week.

Candidate Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at Minot State University
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • Uphold a level of personal conduct appropriate to the responsibilities of the job
  • Attend training sessions, staff meetings, one-on-ones, and other events as assigned
  • Abide by all University policies, as well as state, and federal laws


Compensation & Term

  • Additional compensation may be earned at an hourly rate by maintaining hours in the Student I.D. Office during summer, fall, and spring semesters.
  • Individuals will be placed on Minot State University payroll on March16th and shall remain on payroll until March 15th of the following year unless the position is vacated prior, whereas, salary will be terminated immediately.


Job Description: MSU Life Event Coordinator

  • Work effectively with Marketing Coordinator, Student Activities Coordinator, and members of the MSU: Life Committee to plan, promote and coordinate a varied, consistent, and appealing student activities calendar for Minot State University students!
  • Devote a minimum of six hours per week to event preparation, weekly planning meetings, promotion, and
    post-evaluation of campus activities. Additional hours may be necessary during peak programming weeks.
  • Recruit and mentor enthusiastic and motivated team members to help plan, promote and host MSU: Life events.
  • Co-chair the MSU Life Committee with Marketing Coordinator.
  • Assist Marketing Coordinator in marketing campaigns to promote MSU: Life programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a role model for other students and maintain a positive attitude towards the job.


Job Description: MSU Life Marketing Coordinator


  • Work effectively with Events Coordinator, Student Activities Coordinator, and members of the MSU: Life Committee to plan, promote and coordinate a varied, consistent, and appealing marketing campaign for all MSU Life events and initiatives!
  • Devote a minimum of six hours per week to marketing MSU: Life events and initiatives creatively, energetically, and professionally to appropriate channels to enhance the campus atmosphere.
  • Recruit and mentor enthusiastic and motivated team members to help promote and host MSU: Life events.
  • Co-chair the MSU Life Committee with Events Coordinator.
  • Assist in maintaining the MSU Life website, calendar, and social media accounts.
  • Manage MSU: Life bulletin boards to ensure they stay updated, organized, and clear of outdated information.
  • Serve as a role model for other students and maintain a positive attitude towards the job.
