We are looking for a motivated and experienced Garde Manger/ to join our kitchen staff. The Garde Manger will be responsible for the preparation of all cold foods, such as salads and charcuterie. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, a passion for preparing delicious food, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Garde Manger Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of cold foods according to established recipes and standards
- Create visually appealing presentations of cold dishes, utilizing garnishes, sauces, and artistic plating techniques
- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Ensure all food items are properly labeled and stored
- Monitor food temperatures, storing food at safe temperatures
- Follows safety and sanitation procedures
Garde Manger Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen
- Working knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation guidelines
- Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment
Salary: 18-20 hourly based on experience
