Mint City Utility Services is searching for the right team members to help in our vegetation management program, partnering with local utility providers. We are committed to safety, efficiency, and excellence in utility vegetation management.

Applicants should possess a clean driving record (provide a Motor Vehicle Report), pass a pre-employment drug screen, and be able to lift 75 pounds or more continually throughout the working day.

*Job Summary*

The General Foreman oversees field operations for tree trimming, vegetation management, and utility line clearance. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and client expectations. The General Foreman leads crews, manages schedules, enforces safety standards, and ensures quality control.

*Key Responsibilities*

Leadership & Supervision:

- Supervise multiple crews performing tree trimming, removal, and vegetation management near utility lines.

- Train and mentor crew leaders and employees to ensure safe and efficient work practices.

- Conduct daily tailgate meetings and enforce company safety policies.

- Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, and clients to ensure smooth operations.

Operations & Productivity:

- Plan, organize, and assign work to crews to maximize efficiency.

- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and vehicles, conducting routine inspections.

- Monitor job progress and address any operational issues to prevent delays.

- Maintain accurate records of job progress, crew performance, and completed work.

Safety & Compliance:

- Enforce OSHA, ANSI A300, and company safety standards to prevent accidents.

- Conduct site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

- Ensure crews follow proper procedures when working near power lines.

- Lead safety training and ensure compliance with PPE and equipment guidelines.

Communication & Coordination:

- Act as a liaison between crews, management, and clients.

- Provide clear instructions and expectations to field employees.

- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.

- Report incidents, near misses, and performance issues to management.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in tree trimming, utility line clearance, or vegetation management.

- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

- Knowledge of ANSI, OSHA, and DOT safety regulations.

- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

Preferred:

- Chemical Applicators License (R.T.) and/or a CAT 6 certification.

- ISA Certified Arborist or Utility Specialist certification.

- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work at heights and in proximity to power lines.

- Lift and carry 75 lbs. or more continually throughout the working day.

- Operate heavy machinery, including bucket trucks, chippers, and chainsaws.

- Work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
