You will play a vital role in the office, collaborating closely with both patients and team members to ensure a seamless, professional, and fun experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides patients with guidance and support by addressing minor concerns, answering questions, and offering directions as authorized by the dentist.
- Assists dentist during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist in accordance with state regulations and company protocol.
- Educating patients on post-procedure care and oral hygiene practices.
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments, operatories and equipment according to infection control protocols and the doctor’s discretion.
- Maintains equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's direction and the office's policy and protocol.
- Maintains all areas in compliance with directives and protocols as well as center policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control and safety issues.
- Manages inventory of dental supplies and ensures proper stocking.
- Ensures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with state and federal regulations and office policies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records as required by law.
- Participates in appropriate health promotion/disease prevention activities, both on-site and off-site as required.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising the dental assistant team.
- Coordinating staff schedules to ensure efficient workflow.
- Acting as a liaison between dental assistants, dentists, and office management.
- Enforcing and maintaining safety and compliance protocols (WISHA, HIPAA, ETC).
- Assisting in hiring and onboarding new dental assistants.
- Ensuring and maintaining high standards of patient care and service.
- As directed by a supervisor, performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives.
