Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy Software (North America)
Our client, an ambitious organisation focused on renewable energy asset management solutions, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the expansion of their digital platform across North America, with a strong focus on the U.S. market.
This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with a background in software sales for the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and positioning the platform as the go-to solution for independent power producers (IPPs), asset managers, and large-scale renewable energy operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Market Expansion: Lead business development efforts, driving adoption of the platform across solar, wind, battery storage, and hybrid energy solutions.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their needs and demonstrating the value of the platform.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Identify and engage new customers, managing the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to contract closure.
- Collaboration & Product Development: Work closely with technical and product teams, providing market insights to influence product enhancements.
- Revenue Growth: Drive new sales opportunities, ensuring a robust pipeline within target markets.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5 years of sales experience in software solutions for renewable energy asset management.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing deals.
- Strong understanding of solar PV, battery storage, and energy optimization technologies.
- Ability to navigate complex sales processes and engage with both technical experts and senior executives.
- Well-connected within the industry, with a network of IPPs, O&M providers, asset managers, and EPCs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Location & Travel:
- Houston, TX (Hybrid) or Remote within the U.S.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for client meetings and industry events.
