Job Summary :
Grower Relations Representative will work under the direction of the General Manager for the purpose of soliciting almonds for marketing, developing relationships between Minturn Nut and growers, and participating in crop evaluation. His / Her presence in the field representing Minturn Nut provides the opportunity to collect information regarding the general atmosphere within the almond industry.
Essential Functions :
- Execute an effective strategic grower strategy to develop strong grower relations
- Stay abreast of current trends, market conditions, and technological advances through continued education; maintain ongoing technical learning as needed
- Contact almond growers and report acreage and availability
- Estimate crop size and report on industry news
- Foster strong mutually beneficial relationships with growers to ensure high quality, service, and value
- Call on and solicit almonds for marketing and discover potential almond growers and / or almond sources
- Be aware of bee strength and prices and availability
- Report on water availability, trends, and concerns going forward
- Conduct comprehensive market research to stay informed about industry trends and market conditions
- Be able to disseminate information accurately
- Utilize market intelligence to conduct economic forecasting and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Maintain a presence in the agriculture community by supporting local programs and ag leadership programs
Job Specifications :
Well organized, can manage multiple growers’ needs, prospect for new accounts, stay ahead of industry trends. Have proactive salesmanship personality. Have minimum 5 years’ experience in field operations, public relations. Profit and loss mentality assessing and making changes based on potential impact of changes in price, margin, etc. to gain value / loss of value to the Company’s key stakeholders. Have the ability to create and contribute to strategies, goals and acquisition plans with examples of solid execution. Effective oral and written communication skills, be familiar with MS Outlook, Excel and Word and able to obtain the skills to function within internal computer systems / programs.
