What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Minute Men Staffing?
We are recruiting for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician in Louisville, KY who can Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments. This is a 1st shift 7a-3:30p and pay is $29.00 per hour to start.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and completes minor electrical repairs on wiring and other components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, troubleshoots and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as presses or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and metal cutting saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have ability to operate a motor vehicle and forklift (both electrical and propane).
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment/machines.
- Previous experience or post-secondary trade school required.

Education/Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; post-secondary trade school or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to talk with others and hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Ability to sit, stoop, bend, crawl or twist frequently.
- Ability to lift/move 25 pounds.
- Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
