What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Minute Men Staffing?
Do you have experience in Safety/Inspections with a Construction or Mining background. If so, MM Direct has a Direct Hire opportunity for a 1st shift Safety Manager for a local Construction supplier in Southern Indiana. Hours are 7a-5p and pay is $75K-$90K. This is a working Safety Manager position. Will be doing 60% field work and 40% desk work.
The Safety Manager must demonstrate a commitment to communicating, adhering to, and improving safety policies in all work environments and areas. This role will actively be effective at eliminating occupational injuries through accident prevention and loss control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized H&S knowledge to help site leadership drive behavioral changes in the business to reduce incidents
Travel to job sites for safety inspections
Monitor regulatory compliance through various information sources
Remain current on regulatory issues including OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, and other Government Agencies at all levels and implements company policies and training to ensure understanding
Support the collection, analysis, and distribution of relevant safety metrics
Advise and assist supervisors and managers during incident investigations
Clear understanding of HIPPA compliance
Assist site leadership in their communications with MSHA and OHSA
Assist during MSHA inspections and investigations, providing local management with the expertise to interpret regulatory compliance issues and the capacity to challenge inspector’s findings
Must have a sound understanding of Steel fabrication and erection and crane & rigging techniques and methods
Audits workers
Manage multiple safety projects, and provide agreed-upon deliverables in a timely manner
Conduct audits and inspections periodically to confirm compliance with applicable company and regulatory requirements
Provide general administration support, as requested
Assist in injury case management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong computer skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database-based programs is required
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong time management skills: must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize work
Action-oriented, with awareness of decision quality principles
Must have extensive knowledge of equipment types, capacity, and capabilities
Perform Drug screening
Perform near miss Incident/Accident Investigation and reports
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree (or equivalent years of experience)
Required Work Experience:
4-6 years of relatable work experience; MSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA experience (preferred)
Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word), PDF, database systems
