Anticipated*** Preschool Teaching Assistant- Part Time

Minuteman High School is looking to hire an anticipated Preschool Teaching Assistant. The hours are 12:15pm -4:00pm, Monday-Friday at $20-$25/hour following the preschool’s school calendar. The assistant will provide a safe and nurturing environment for preschool children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The teacher will supervise students while assisting other CCA staff in the preschool’s curriculum activities, outdoor/gym time, lunch and break coverage. Major Responsibilities: •Interact at the child’s level frequently, respectfully and in a nurturing manner with the children. Speak in a friendly, calm, soft, courteous manner within proximity of the child. Respect and observe children’s interests. •Intervene in child’s play when needed to maintain safety. Enhance children’s play with language, toys, and activities. •Maintain positive relationships with supervisors, parents/guardians, children, and co-workers. •Encourage and model social behavior and expectations that are developmentally appropriate. •Practice positive guidance techniques in guiding preschool students. •Be attentive, flexible, and supportive of children and their families during transitions to and from classrooms. •Demonstrate respect for diversity by providing anti-bias, non-sexist language, images, and experiences that reflect both Center and global communities. •Work collaboratively as a team with CCA staff. •Acknowledge parents/guardians and all classroom visitors. Respond to parents/guardians’ comments and concerns with sensitivity, interest, and respect. Maintain confidentiality. •Maintain and follow all safety and health rules of the Center. •Supervise children at all times. Demonstrate awareness of entire group while working with a small group or individuals. Know the number of children in your group and always maintain ratios. •Encourage children to utilize appropriate health, safety, and nutritional practices. •Assist with lunch, snack and naptime. •Sanitize, clean, and get the preschool ready for the following morning. •Cover planning time for the CCA teachers •Other duties as needed

Salary : $20 - $25
