Hearing Healthcare Insurance Verification Specialist: Join the Miracle-Ear team and Make a Difference!
Miracle-Ear in Phoenix is hiring in our corporate office in North Phoenix. We are seeking a smart, motivated Full Time Insurance Verification Specialist to work within our growing company.As an Insurance Verification and Billing Specialist, you are responsible for verifying client’s insurance eligibility to determine coverage and benefits for services provided. You will acquire and complete any paperwork necessary to ensure the claims process is efficient and all regulatory policies are in compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information, updating as necessary
- Collects, verifies and communicates necessary information with member’s insurance carrier to obtain medical health benefit
- Obtains prior authorization for services as required by the insurance company
- Verifies eligibility and medical health benefits by phone and computer
- Reviewing claim denials and correspondence from carriers to resolve unpaid claims, while communicating issues to our customers.
- Conducting follow-up activities on outstanding accounts receivable by calling insurance companies and by researching claims on payer web portals
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and confidentiality regulations and guidelines
- Other duties and tasks may be assigned as appropriate or necessary
- Works directly under supervision of Operations Manager
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent working knowledge of insurance carriers’ payment regulations, copays, coinsurance and deductibles, in-network and out-of-network providers
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines; including Medicare, HMO, PPO
- Experience in medical health insurance verification preferred
- Experience with medical billing software and clearinghouses
- Requires knowledge of healthcare billing practices including ICD-10
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines
- Clear and concise communication
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment
